2024 WAVERLEY SHIELD, BONDI BEACH, SUNDAY 17th NOVEMBER, 2024

• 6am setup all areas / 6.30am briefing at BONDI SC for safety personnel and sectional referees only
• From 6.30am- breakfast for all officials, water safety, recorders- followed by on beach briefings. Clubs to run internal Age Manager briefings
• EVENT MARSHALLING commences 15 minutes prior to start times

What a huge week was last week! Three ocean proficiency sessions ( the last at Club Champs) with everyone that took on the ocean swim making it around. It was amazing to see all the boys heading out the back and around the cans. Our first open ocean surf paddle as a group. We couldn’t be prouder of all the boys that gave it their all at the club champs. Extra shout out to Roque who took out first place in the Sprint and Flags and Lucas who took out first in the boards and the swim. It was really great to see the boys cheering each other on and being good sports when they were getting knocked out in the flags.

This weekend we have the Waverley Shield down at Bondi. Meeting at Bondi at 7am at the U9’s tent (we will send a message on the location once we have our spot). Only those boys that have registered are able to attend. No nippers at Bronte for the rest of U9 Boys.

Dave and Matt will have the live heats bands and give them out at the U9’s tent at 7am ahead of the events. Please remember:

• no wetsuits
• Pink rashies on
• Bronte nipper caps (blue on the right, yellow on the left)
• Goggles
• Board (if you have one)
• Water
• Snacks
• Sunscreen.

Our events are as follows:

• 7.30am-Surf Race- Individual/ Teams (Water Area 1)- we will then wait in the same area for our Surf Race, followed by the board relays.
• 7.30am- Flags (Flag Pit (3)) Once this raps up we will head over to the Sprint Track for the U9”s Sprint

Remember to approach the day flexibly – carnival timetables can often change on the day due to conditions.
